Korea Culture & History Tour 10 days
Day 1: US – SEOUL
After your arrival in Seoul, you will be met by local guide and transferred to your hotel. The rest of day is free.
Day 2: SEOUL (B,L)
Morning tour of Gyeongbok Palace built in 1394 as a primary residence for the royal family, National Folk Museum which explains the religious rituals, housing customs, household tools, housing implements, food, and social dynamics of traditional Korean life. Afternoon tour of Korean Folk Village, a living museum that recreates that recreates the life style of several centuries ago.
Day 3: SEOUL (B,D)
Full day tour of Changdeok Palace constructed in 1405 as an auxiliary palace to Gyeongbok Palace and Secret Garden, the rear garden of Palace used by the king and royal family as a place for relaxation, The National Museum of Korea that exhibits 4,500 artifacts representing over 5,000 years of human endeavor on the Korean Peninsula and South Gate, Korea’s National Treasure No. 1.Evening dinner at Korea House with traditional Korean music & dance performance.
Day 4: SEOUL – MT. SONGNI NAT’L PARK (B,D)
Transfer to Mt. Songni Nat’l Park. Tour of Beobjusa Temple established in 553A.D. that displays many famous artworks, including the oldest wooden building in Korea, a stone lantern which is a National Treasure, and a famous 108-foot-high bronze statue of Buddha. Overnight in area.
Day 5: MT. SONGNI -ANDONG (B,D)
Transfer to Andong.Tour of Hahoe Folk Village where about 130 traditional houses large and small, from nobility to commoners, have been well-preserved by the same families for generations. Tour of Dosanseowon Confucian Academy built by Lee Hwang, a famous Korean scholar who is regarded as a great master of the East Confucian School. Overnight at Andong Park Hotel.
Day 6: ANDONG – GYEONGJU (B,D)
Transfer to Gyeongju called “Museum without Walls”.
En route, tour of Mt. Gaya Nat’l Park and Haeinsa Temple known as the repository of the Tripitaka Koreana, a set of 80,000 wooden printing blocks engraved with one of the most comprehensive compilations of the Buddhist scriptures in all of Asia. Overnight at area hotel.
Day 7: GYEONGJU (B,D)
Full day tour of Seokguram Grotto designated as UNESCO World Heritage, Bulguksa Temple – a monument to both the skill of the Shilla architects and the depth of Buddhist faith at the time, Tumuli Park – a collection of Royal Shilla tombs, etc.
Day 8: GYEONGJU – BUSAN (B)
Transfer to Busan, Korea’s principal international port city. En route, tour of Tongdosa Temple, built by Great Monk Jajang in 646 A.D. Overnight at a Busan area hotel
Day 9: BUSAN (B,D)
Free day. Farewell dinner at hotel.
Day 10: BUSAN – SEOUL – US Transfer to airport & departure
